With summer coming to an end and school back in session, life is about to get busier. Make after-school snacking simpler with these tasty recipes.
Recipe #1
Replace those cookies and crackers with something more filling. This simple recipe can be made with four Russet potatoes, olive oil, a few spices and Texas Pete® Dust Dry Seasoning.
Ingredients
- 4 Russet potatoes (large size), cut into wedges
- 1 tsp. Black Pepper, ground
- 2 tbsp. Garlic Powder
- ½ cup Olive Oil
- 2 tbsp. Fresh Rosemary, chopped
- 3 tbsp. Texas Pete® Dust Dry Seasoning
Directions
1. Preheat oven to 450 F.
2. In a large bowl mix together pepper and garlic powder then stir in oil. Add potatoes and toss to coat. Place potatoes on a foil-lined baking sheet. Roast in oven, turning once, until golden brown and crisp, 25–30 minutes. Reserve oil mixture.
3. Return roasted potatoes to oil mixture, add rosemary and Texas Pete Dust Dry Seasoning toss. Serve and enjoy!
Recipe #2:
Looking to make different cookies than chocolate chip? This easy ginger snap cookie recipe can be made with Texas Pete Fiery Sweet sauce, flour, cinnamon, brown sugar, eggs and a few other ingredients. The recipe only takes 24 minutes from start to finish and the results are simply delicious.
Ingredients
- 2 cups All-Purpose Flour
- 1½ tsp. Baking Soda
- ¼ tsp. Salt
- 1 Tbsp. Ginger, ground
- ½ tsp. Cinnamon, ground
- ½ Cup Unsalted Butter, room temperature
- 2/3 Cup Brown Sugar
- 1 Egg
- 1 Egg Yolk
- 1 Tbsp. Fresh Ginger, grated
- ¼ Cup Molasses
- ¼ Cup Texas Pete® Fiery Sweet Sauce
- 1/3 Cup Crystallized Ginger, chopped
- ½ C Granulated Sugar
Directions
1. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, ground ginger, and cinnamon; set aside.
2. Cream butter, brown sugar, until smooth, about 2 minutes on medium speed. Add egg, egg yolk, fresh ginger, molasses and Texas Pete® Fiery Sweet Sauce. Mix until thoroughly combined, about 1 minute on medium-medium high speed. Add flour mixture and mix until just incorporated. Mix in crystallized ginger. Cover the dough mixture with plastic wrap and refrigerate until firm, about 2 hours
3. Preheat oven to 325 F. Place granulated sugar in a shallow bowl. Shape dough into 1-inch balls, then roll in granulated sugar to coat. Arrange balls on parchment lined baking sheets, leaving 1–2 inches of space between them.
4. Bake for 15 minutes, then rotate baking sheet and bake for an additional 9 minutes until cookies are brown around the edges. Transfer to a wire rack and cool completely before serving. Serve and enjoy!
Recipe #3
Ordinary Chex mix has nothing on this salty and spicy snack. It’s easy to make with Texas Pete® Dust Dry Seasoning, Worcestershire Sauce, pretzels, crackers and cereal.
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp. Texas Pete® Dust Dry Seasoning
- 1 tbsp. Worcestershire Sauce
- 2 tbsp. Butter, unsalted, melted
- 3⁄4 tsp. Kosher Salt
- 3⁄4 cup White Crispy Cereal
- 3⁄4 cup Rice Crispy Cereal
- 3⁄4 cup Wheat Crispy Cereal
- 3⁄4 cup Mixed Nuts
- 3⁄4 cup Pretzel Rounds
- 3⁄4 cup Cheese Crackers
Directions
1. Preheat oven to 300°F.
2. In a small bowl, combine Texas Pete® Dust Dry Seasoning, Worcestershire sauce, butter and salt together. Set aside.
3. In a large bowl, add crispy cereals, mixed nuts, pretzel rounds and cheese crackers. Pour Texas Pete® butter sauce over mix.
4. On a parchment paper® lined sheet tray, pour mix, spread evenly and bake for 40 minutes, stirring every 10–15 minutes.
5. Let cool and store in an airtight container. Serve and enjoy!
