Austin, TX (June 4, 2014) – Pro Rider Chad Kagy, one the world’s best BMX Vert and BMX Big Air competitors, is heating things up at the 20th Annual X Games. In addition to competing, Kagy will be turning up the heat in a new way… as a cook. Kagy will compete in two cook-offs, on June 6 from 2 to 2:30 PM and on June 7 from 3 to 3:30 PM. Kagy will also be available to sign autographs on June 6 from 1 to 2 PM.
Why cooking? The two-time Park medalist and gold medal winner at Vert and Big Air is sponsored by TW Garner Food Company, makers of Texas Pete hot sauce and CHA! by Texas Pete sriracha sauce.
“Chad is the perfect representative for our product,” says Glenn Garner, vice president of marketing for Garner Food Company. “Our sauces bring heat and excitement to food and Chad brings the same energy to his sport.”
The X Games, with its focus on extreme sports such as skateboarding and BMX, is an annual sports event controlled and arranged by the U.S. sports broadcaster ESPN. Celebrating 20 years this year, the X Games debuted a new and enhanced festival-style experience that will take place June 6-8 at Circuit of The Americas (COTA) in Austin, Texas.
